Ciara, a Natural Fiber Art Doll by Fig and Me
Miss Ciara is a sweet little doll, made as a custom order, in my Petite Fig small size pattern. Ciara loves to play in the village meadows and inspect all the corners of the boreal forest.

When the sun is not even on the horizon, she wakes up happy and ready to meet her day. Dresses herself quite promptly and without any prodding, always choosing dresses.
Now, when the weather obliges or the mosquitoes are relentless, she likes to wear long sleeves and long underpants (we call those leggings in modern times).
Today she chose her autumnal outfit, I have to agree that the weather felt much like it.

Her beautiful pin-whale light corduroy dress, the one with the pretty florals and added bib. This pretty dress has angora cuffs and collar, to add cozy touches to her wardrobe. After all, Minnesota is a cold (but not inhospitable) place.
She also chose her mint stripe leggings, her cozy socks and her matchy alpaca knit ensemble: a brown affair of knitted stitches that covers her head in the shape of a bonnet, a warm cape and sweet boots.
Ready for anything, as they say.

Now of course she had to go and check on all her wildflowers and chit chat with the nuthatches and chickadees.
I just followed her along, watching in wonder her sweet smile and her caring hands, as she moved tall grasses out of the way and was careful not to step on any wild strawberries.

Such a sweet and caring doll she is. I am extremely happy that she is going to a gentle mother who is waiting to make her lots of clothes and play with her.
They both have been extremely patient with my slow doll making, so we are excited for them to finally meet!

The booties Miss Ciara is wearing will be published as a full knitting pattern very shortly. I was going to make her leather boots, but once she saw the booties I made for Nieves she said she had to have a pair of her own.
The pattern will be published in 4 sizes: Mannikin, Little Fig, Petite Fig (small) and Big Fig (or Figlette). That way you might be able to also appease the dolls in your home if they are looking for a pair of cozy knitted booties.
