Windy and overcast days are good for loads of things, but they are especially great for building forts in the living room and telling your sister stories.

Of course I wish I could have stayed with them, dragging blankets, making tea and eatings lots of toast under their fortress. Alas, my fortune today had to do with several loads of laundry, walking the dog, putting lunches in backpacks, walking children to and fro school and more. I did eat toast, sampled the tea, and snuggled for a bit with these two, while I listened to Amanda tell stories.

Their pajamas were the first outfit I made for them. Somehow I knew they were going to kick around longer than usual and decided to make them something comfortable to lie about in the house. 

Amanda's set is made with a repurposed waffle-knit cotton fabric, long sleeves and a pretty detail of pintucks and buttons on front. Her mother is a true romantic so I wanted to send her home with something floral.

Aoki's set is made with THE softest cotton flannel ever. It has cute little pigs and white dots all over. The top has wide sleeves and peter pan collar, and the legs are very wide and cozy too. I trimmed it with tiny blue ric rac. One of my favourite things to use when designing doll clothes. We were going to add a pocket but in the end decided against it.

Of course, they had to have matching bunny slippers. Since Sakasu has a pair, and we know how Sakasu gets, we just had to prop them up for their arrival.

Their pair is made with wool-blend felt, lined in corresponding fabrics, with cute added ears and wee bits of embroidery. Yes, yes. I made a pattern this time and with some jars of coffee and some encouragement, I shall muster the strength to publish it and put it in the shop.

From here on out I am going to try to publish all my clothing patterns in several sizes. This is such a requested feature, and you ladies are always asking me if this fits that, or if that fits this one, and since my dolls have SUCH different pattern, sizes and proportions, I thought to make it a bit easier on all of us, and just do the thing right from the beginning.

This of course is not a matter of mere "down-sizing" the pattern, this is way more involved than that. Their feet have very different shapes, therefore I have to draft a pattern for each size, and the pattern pieces don't always look the same.

Trying to make the instructions to be the 'same' for all sizes though…that's stretching my brain just a bit. So just keep an eye out, and wish me good luck. It is my wish to close this year with lots of clothing patterns so you can all spend leisurely time sewing and knitting for your dolls, so be it.

As for Amanda and Aoki, they only have to model one more outfit for us. Rumour has it they will be going home next week, but ssshhhh…don't tell their mother. We like to tease her and keep her waiting.
